The Community Prevention Institute (CPI) website is designed as an internet-based resource for California's alcohol and drug program providers. Prevention By Design
Prevention by Design is a network of highly skilled Regional Trainers spread throughout California to help county alcohol and drug programs (county ADPs) and their contracted community-based organizations (CBOs) deliver effective prevention services.
Society for Prevention Research
The Society for Prevention Research seeks to advance science-based prevention programs and policies through empirical research. The international membership of the organization includes scientists, practitioners, advocates, administrators, and policy makers who are concerned with the prevention of social, physical and mental health problems and the promotion of health, safety, and well-being.
SAMHSA Model Programs
The SAMHSA Model Programs featured on this site have been tested in communities, schools, social service organizations, and workplaces across America, and have provided solid proof that they have prevented or reduced substance abuse and other related high-risk behaviors. Programs included have been reviewed by SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP). This Web site serves as a comprehensive resource for anyone interested in learning about and/or implementing these programs.

The California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs goal in Prevention Services is to develop and maintain a comprehensive, statewide prevention system that averts and reduces alcohol and other drug-related problems, thereby improving the health, safety and economic conditions of California residents.

Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) for California
CSAP's Western CAPT is organized to provide useful, efficient, cost-effective, and culturally sensitive prevention application services through a comprehensive system that matches services to the technological capabilities and capacity of local community-based prevention programs.
National Inhalant Prevention Coalition
The NIPC serves as an inhalant referral and information clearinghouse, stimulates media coverage about inhalant issues, develops informational materials, produces ViewPoint (a quarterly newsletter), provides training and technical assistance and leads a week-long national grassroots inhalant education and awareness campaign.

The Center for Applied Research Solutions (CARS), formerly The EMT Group, administers the Mentoring Technical Assistance Contract that is funded through the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP).
